This cool kid turned 5 years old and knew what kind of party he wanted to throw…friends and dinosuars galore! Jude had a blast paling around with his pack of little buddies while climbing the highest towers and going down the tallest slides in the dino park (I even lost my husband to the awesome playground with the kids at one point haha).
I had so much fun following these cuties around all afternoon rolling in the grass and climbing trees. It was my kind of celebration! I wish Jude all the joys that this year can bring. He really is the most amazing kid I know ❤

I was lucky enough to meet the Sutton’s days after their new tiny guy, Lennox, joined the bunch with Chloe & Jagger. We spent the day running through fields, playing with straws, and dressing the little guy up in adorable duds. I could spend everyday with these guys capturing the silly moments of love and laughter. I love how goofy people just attract each other! It’s a wonderful thing when you find people that you can laugh with. I know Parker’s sister, Hilarie, through my church and we have shared quite a few giggles. When she told me her brother was getting married I was so happy to know they wanted me to be a part of it.
The moment I met Andi and Parker, I knew it was a match made in heaven. They are silly and fun, smile a lot, and we fit instantly. You can tell that have a special friendship and romance just added that extra piece to make it perfect. I can’t wait for their wedding coming up in a couple of months. I know it’s going to be care free and full of love ❤

It’s funny how life has a way of bringing people back together after long periods of time. Sometimes it’s growing your family that pushes others away, but for some reason, the opposite seems to be the case in this circumstance. I’ve known Jeff and Jerusha separately over the course of the past 15 or so years between youth groups, concerts, mutual friends, etc. and time had pulled us apart in one way or another. Flash forward to a nice little Sunday morning at church and sweet Ellis turning 1. I love how friendships can be rekindled over a tiny photoshoot revolving around this itty bitty lovely!

My dearest friend Kimi Avila has become a one woman powerhouse over the span of our 10 year friendship and has brought new meaning to the term “working mom”. She has become a wife, a mom to my honorary nephew Jude, and a business owner of Bumble&Birch where she uses her talents as an illustrator to create delightful works of art.
From hand lettering note cards to digitally drawing artistic prints, she really can do it all…she even created the watermark I put on all my images! I am thankful to have a creative soul like her in my life. My spirit is always lifted when we are together and it is was my pleasure to document a day in the life of this busy momma.

When you’re a photographer you become the go-to person at every family event that gets asked “Hey, can you take pictures today?” It’s nice to enjoy family days without my camera in hand, but sometimes I can’t help it…simple things like an after dinner walk turn into moments I just know I need to capture.
My nephew Liam is a shy little guy that usually sticks with mom 100% of the time, but this day for some reason when I pulled my camera out he just became this tiny human with so much character. It’s quiet afternoons like this with people that you hold the closest to you heart that create the loveliest of memories. This was a day I truly cherished ❤

It’s always seemed like love and food have always been great companions, so this really is the perfect fairytale. When Sean’s career as an architect slowed down as California’s housing market hit a rough patch years ago, he decided it was time to follow his passion for culinary arts and take a shot at becoming a chef. It was at the restaurant he’d start work at where he would meet a beautiful sous chef, Jessica and the rest, as they say, is history. Fast forward 4 years later, this couple has called in their reservations for October to become husband and wife…and cat.
I may have enjoyed this shoot more than Sean & Jessica. I mean, how awesome was it that their idea for an engagement session in San Francisco included picking ingredients from their personal garden, freshly made pasta, and a romantic backyard dinner for two! It was truly a treat for me just to witness the affection and care for what they were creating together in the kitchen. If the marriage is even close to as good as their food smelled that day, I think the future will be seasoned very well for them.
And let’s face it, I wasn’t mad about hanging out with Prosecco the cat all day, either ❤

When I shot Coral’s 1st birthday back in February (http://photographybyamandarose.com/2014/02/19/happy-birthday-coral/) I had no idea I would have the pleasure of photographing her brand new little baby cousin Lily when she was fresh out of the womb!
This tiny chunk is by far the best baby I have ever been around. Nearing 2 weeks old, she barely made a peep during her short stint as a mini model. She napped like a champ the whole time we were outside! It really is a testament to the family she is raised around. They are so gentle and kind to her and anyone that is in their presence. There was lots of laughter, smiles, and cooing. This was all around such a lovely afternoon. One could be so lucky to have everything that this tiny lady has going for her.

Ruby Mae’s ringing in her birthday with all the things a girl could ask for. From the purr-fectly Etsy crafted and thrifted cat decor to the pink ombre cake and bedazzled candle, this party really knows where it’s at. Being a cat lady myself, walking into this party was like taking a step into one of the many dreams I’ve had full of kittens and oversized flowers. It was like a colorful feline wonderland. Is it bad that I was a little jealous of a toddler???
